Hypnosis for Pregnancy and Childbirth

Antenatal hypnotherapy or ‘hypno-birthing’, gives you control over your pregnancy and birthing experience. Many of the anxieties you may have are replaced by a sense of calm anticipation, deeply instilled through the hypnotic state. And by learning self hypnosis, you will be able to summon this mindset whenever you need to. You will also be given a series of powerful and effective relaxation and distraction exercises, visualisations and pain control techniques to make your baby's birth more comfortable, calm and relaxed.

After an initial consultation, six one-to-one sessions are divided between early and late pregnancy, starting at 24 weeks and then at 36 weeks.

Research findings support the use of hypnosis as an effective and safe form of pain relief. Antenatal hypnotherapy has growing recognition amongst the medical community and with organisations such as the National Childbirth Trust.
